The CSPD Specialist assures the appropriate assembly and delivery of surgical instrumentation to direct patient care givers within the operating room. This position helps to lead and oversee daily CSPD and OR sterilization activities. In addition, the Specialist educates staff on all aspects of CSPD function.

Coordinates all facets of departmental duties and responsibilities. Conducts instrument inventories, orders instruments and sterilization supplies as needed. Maintains required CS sterilization documentation and records. Ensures the highest quality standards are met and are in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, guidelines, and established industry standards. CRCST Certification required within 6 months of position attainment.

The Scottsdale Healthcare CSPD Specialist assumes responsibility and accountability for incorporating the vision, values, mission and critical goals of the organization into their job performance.

Skills / Requirements

Basic Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Successful completion of Scottsdale Healthcare CSPD Training Program or 6 months experience in all accountabilities of a CSPD Tech.

Basic Experience

2 years experience as CSPD Tech

Basic Field-of-Expertise

Extensive knowledge of sterile processing techniques, supply chain processes and instrumentation care and handling.
